The OccupyWallStreet movement is rapidly becoming OccupyAmerica as the peaceful protests expand from the financial district of NYC to every major city throughout the United States. Having risen in the wake of the brutal attacks on workers’ rights by governors in Wisconsin, Indiana, and Ohio earlier this year, OccupyWallStreet has brought Americans from all walks of life into the streets in numbers that haven’t been seen since the antiwar demonstrations of the 70s. The movement has spread to more than 1200 communities throughout America, including Houston, Texas.
Recently, OccupyHouston hosted the Occupy Houston Art Fest and Occupy Houston Corporate House of Horrors in the occupied Tranquility Park next to the Houston City Hall in downtown Houston. StoryMakers has worked in collaboration and solidarity with Occupy Houston to produce several videos in support of the group's mission!
