Two Times A Lady

LOGLINE

An American national security agent dodges death to save a young American woman from corrupt officials who target her to take the fall for a violent revolutionary leader in Mexico.

SUMMARY

Guerrilla warfare raging in Chiapas, Mexico, spills into the Mexican capital. Zapatista rebels hold foreign dignitaries hostage at the American ambassador’s residence. Representing U.S. interest, NSA agent Bruce Wilson quickly devises a plan that efficiently allows the Mexican military to terminate the hostage crisis.

Meanwhile in Chiapas, soldiers mistake Si Coquita Ruiz, a beautiful Chicago-born college student, for La Puta, the brazen Leader of the Zapatista Revolutionary Army. Amidst gunfire, a mysterious young American whisks Si to safety aboard his yacht and sets sail for the States. In San Diego, the Coast Guard uncovers contraband on the vessel and charges Si with smuggling.

Mexico’s corrupt Minister of Justice Roberto Salizar, thinking Si is La Puta, hopes to boost his chances of winning the Presidency by demanding her return to Mexico for trial and execution. Fearing an international incident, National Security Agency bureau chief Douglas Murphy assigns Bruce to determine Si’s true identity. Before Bruce can confront Si, authorities release her from custody and she disappears.

Back in Chiapas, the real La Puta stages a raid on a sweatshop to recruit supporters. A rogue CIA operative, lying in wait, apprehends La Puta and sequesters her in a remote jungle hideout. Soldiers attack and unknowingly kill the Zapatista leader.

News of the sweatshop raid draws Bruce to Mexico where he learns that Salizar kidnapped Si in San Diego then staged her capture for the press in a gruesome jungle firefight.

As Bruce tracks Si’s movements through Mexican prisons, he discovers her true identity and finds that Murphy set him up in a sadistic scheme that reaches beyond manipulation of Mexican elections. Bruce, alienated by the dark commerce of conspiracy, must now save himself before he can deliver Si from a tortuous fate.
